Original tribe carpet represent the ancient culture of the Qashqai tribe living 100 years ago in southern eastern Persia. The Qashqais (Ghashghai, Kashgai) are tribes people from the Fars Province in southwest Persia in a confederation of different tribes. They are the second largest Turkic group in Iran. The Qashqai clan, who weave the much coveted ethnic Persian rugs, has a culture and a past that are abundant in both inspiration and hardship. It is these two elements combined that lend a rare sense of lightheartedness and vibrancy to their old world antique rugs. Quashqai Kilim its flat-woven rug in which the weft threads form the pattern and the colors. They are made made using a slit tapestry technique also known as a discontinuous weft weave. The Qashqai use more common form which leaves a slit at the point where the shift in color is made. Kilims typically geometric in style.

This tribal Qashqai Kilim rug has amazing natural dyes and is just shining. Stunning colors and a great choice for floors and display.
