(High-Decorative) The Northwest Persian village of Karaja is noted for its highly graphic area size rugs with their distinctive triple medallion format. This robust example, over century-old example presents reveals superb craftsmanship, ample creativity and a dazzling range of saturated colors. Within a midnight indigo blue reserve, the formal organization of three chiseled medallions is counterbalanced with a lively and dense arrangement of smaller, multitudinous blossoms, leaves and rosettes. The floral motifs surrounding the medallions possess a subtle, freeform quality while maintaining great overall harmony and balance. Its abundant use of turquoise, jade green and warm terra-cotta adds tremendously to the beauty of its palette. Its excellent, heavier-pile condition will allow its new owner to use it in even a very heavily trafficked area of the home.
Disclaimers: production and surface imperfections consistent with this form of weaving. Some pictures taken under natural sun light.
