Turkmen weaving is both highly collectable and invigorating. The various Turkmen tribes of Central Asia are known for their elaborate and often rigid social structures, the paradigms of which are reflected in their weaving. This exceptional piece was made originally as a prayer rug, or “Namazlyk”.
